INSIDE THE STUDIO ~ The latest entrant to our inside the studio is the brilliant Nicola. She has been with us since our opening day and is quickly becoming a pilates pro... It is always so rewarding to teach beginners, to watch them gain confidence with the machines and their movements. So seeing Nicola make her way from beginner to tentatively dabbling in our intermediate classes has been such a joy. She has picked it all up so quickly and challenges herself every class, smiling all the way, especially with that pesky balancing work. Read her lovely words below ⬇️ I was not not in any regular fitness program, and my body had been really starting to feel it’s mid-50s age , so was delighted when I saw Moore Movement was starting at the boat club (I’m a tennis member) as I had heard people being so positive about Reformer Pilates. However, I was very apprehensive as I thought reformer was for those experienced in Pilates, but signed up for class on first day in July and have been hooked ever since and have been aiming for 2 classes a week. Angus and Liv’s instruction is excellent, tailored, encouraging and delivered in such a calming, delightful manner. I absolutely love their classes and look forward to them so much, feel totally confident on the Reformer machines and am constantly amazed at the seemingly endless variety of movements they offer. I leave each class mentally and physically completely refreshed. It’s been a relatively short time since July however already my body is much stronger all over and my flexibility has improved no end. At a time when we are encouraged to look after our mental health this has literally been a godsend escaping the pressures of day to day life and connecting with my body and soul . I’m a fan of the Mind and Body App to book classes- it’s so easy to use and allows to you amend bookings if needed. I now can’t imagine my life without these Reformer Pilates classes . INSIDE THE STUDIO 〰 Up next we have Anne McCleary! ♥️ We always look forward to seeing Anne!! ..and it’s not just because sometimes she brings us cake! She started off doing private sessions and has since joined in the Intermediate classes. Despite trying her best to distract you with the latest chat, she has become highly skilled in her Pilates moves! Always willing to try a new exercise and be pushed out of the comfort zone, it’s been so lovely to see her progress. She’s also brought many new words to our Pilates repertoire including ‘sprauchle!’ ✨ Hear her story ⬇️ I'm the living proof that Pilates is for everyone! I'm no athlete and I'm not competitive, but I never miss a Reformer pilates class or session with Liv or Angus! I tell them I'm their challenge! I started with them when they came to Belfast Boat Club, and thoroughly enjoy the sessions: I never know what I'm going to be doing, but I know that I will be expertly and gently encouraged to push beyond my expectations. For that time in the studio, I'm in the zone, totally focused. I have seen huge improvements in my fitness levels, tone and in my stress management! I had done Mat pilates for years but the Reformer takes it to a different level. Put it like this....
